Gekkousou (Moonlight Guest House)

There are no frills here: there’s even a ¥100 surcharge for hot water. But with Funaoka Onsen as your neighbour, you might never need to pay it. Kinkaku-ji is only a stroll away, although there’s little else in the area. The Japanese-style dorm is probably the cheapest lodging in town, but the private room is much better value.
