Chourakukan is best known as a historic dining complex that serves European fare in Rococo and neo-classical settings. Since 2008, there has also been a hotel tucked inconspicuously into the rear of the building. If you can reserve one of the six rooms, you’re in for a treat. The sumptuous furnishings include a real log fire, a wood and brick interior, and jacuzzi baths with views of Maruyama Park. The Chourakukan lies somewhere between a boutique hotel and a rental apartment, with a club lounge that offers food and drink, but otherwise few of the services that you might be used to in a hotel.
