Not many temple lodgings come furnished with wireless internet, air-conditioning and a kitchen, but these rooms within the grounds of the Myoshin-ji complex are surprisingly comfy. Constructed in 2007, five private rooms are available, two of which have en suite showers. Even though its location is far from central, Shunko-in stands close to several major sights and allows guests to borrow its bicycles for the day. The journey back at night through the Myoshin-ji complex is a magical experience.
