The granite facade promises grand things, but the Hearton is a strange place. The lobby is a sterile cafe; there’s a barely perceptible difference between single and double rooms; and if you want a newspaper you have to buy it from the front desk. The service is efficient but, like the heavily annotated, hand-drawn area map that you’ll find on your dresser, the Hearton is a little unconventional.
