The Granvia has one great advantage to brag about, over other hotels: most of the city’s buses, trains and subways stop only a few metres away from its front door. Located inside Kyoto Station, this 500-room hotel also offers impressive views of the city, a dozen restaurants and, in its premium rooms, a seven-headed massage shower and a startle-free wake-up system that uses sound and light to ease you ever so gently from your slumber over the course of around 30 minutes. Within the Granvia, there are no less than 13 bars and restaurants inside the hotel, including an affordable branch of Arashiyama’s Kitcho.
